Ham and Asparagus Casserole

Ingredients

3 - 4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon grated onion
dash of garlic salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons flour
3 cups milk
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 (10-ounce) packages frozen asparagus spears
1 cup poultry stuffing crumbs
2 cups sliced cooked ham

Directions:

Melt 2 tablespoons butter and blend in grated onion and seasonings along with flour. Slowly add milk and heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add cheese and stir until melted. Cook asparagus according to directions and cut into 1-inch lengths.

Preheat oven to 375°. In the bottom of 2-quart buttered casserole, sprinkle a layer of stuffing crumbs. Add layer of ham and one of asparagus. Now pour part of cheese sauce over and repeat layer of ham, asparagus, and sauce until ingredients are used. Top with remaining crumbs and butter. Bake 45 minutes or until bubbly and browned.
