Baked Beans

Ingredients

2 cups pinto beans
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons molasses
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 pound salt pork, sliced

Directions:

Wash pinto beans and cover with water add soda and soak overnight. Pour off water cover with fresh water add salt. Boil until tender, about 2 hours drain, reserving liquid. Combine sugar, mustard, molasses, onion, and salt pork mix with beans. Pour bean liquid over top cover. Bake at 250° to 300°F for 6 to 8 hours. Add a little more hot water from time to time as beans cook.
