Apple Ice Cream Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind (optional)
1 (20-ounce) can pie-sliced apples, undrained

Directions:

Combine the first 6 ingredients in a saucepan; blend well. Stir in apples; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Serve hot over vanilla ice cream.
