Glazed Fresh Apple Cookies

Ingredients

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 unbeaten egg
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup finely chopped, unpared apple
1 cup raisins, chopped
1/4 cup apple juice, milk, or orange juice

Glaze:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
enough orange juice to spread

Directions:

Sift flour and soda together. Cream butter, sugar, salt, and spices. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Add 1/2 flour mixture, nuts, apples, raisins, and juice. Mix well. Add remainder of flour and mix again. Drop by rounded spoonsful on greased cookie sheet. Bake 11–14 minutes in a 400° oven. While warm, glaze.
