Some-Like-It-Hot Crockpot Tailgate Chili

Ingredients

12 ounces bulk sausage
1 1/2 pounds stew meat, cubed small
1 (12-ounce) package frozen seasoning blend (chopped onions, celery, bell pepper)
2 (15-ounce) cans kidney beans
2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons real bacon bits
2 fresh jalapeño peppers, seeded, chopped (optional)
4 cups water

Directions:

Brown sausage and meat in large skillet; transfer to large crockpot with slotted spoon. Sauté frozen seasoning blend veggies in drippings; transfer to crockpot with slotted spoon. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW 8–10 hours or on HIGH 4–5 hours. Serve with your choice of sour cream, sliced green onions, corn chips, or Cheddar cheese for toppings.

Fun Fact: Seed jalapeños by cutting in half crosswise, then ream seeds out with a vegetable peeler. Easy to slice rings. Best to use plastic gloves when handling hot peppers.
