Baked Onions In A Dutch

Ingredients

6 to 8 medium sized onions
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon pepper to taste, white pepper, if you have it
2 cups
4 cups water or any kind of liquid, use your imagination
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup grated cheese

Directions:

Peel whole onions, boil them in liquid in a deep pan until tender - drain and arrange in oiled Dutch. Add white sauce and butter. Bake for about 15 minutes. Carefully lift lid , add grated cheese, cover and let cheese melt.
