Swiss Oatmeal (Muesli)

Ingredients

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup water boiling
2 apples cooking, unpeeled, cored, and grated finely
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
1 cup evaporated milk

Directions:

In small bowl combine rolled oats (instant or regular) and boiling water stir to blend well. Add apples, lemon juice, and brown sugar to taste stir vigorously. Serve cold with evaporated milk (may substitute with light cream).
Note: Any other fresh or canned fruit, such as berries, peaches, or pears may be blended thoroughly into mixture. Also, this is a tasty idea to try with 1 cup of any cooked cereal.
