Steamed Rice


Serves: 4
Total Calories: 132

Ingredients

2 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup long grain rice

Directions:

Combine water and salt in medium saucepan. Bring to boil. Stir in rice, turn heat to low, cover and cook 25 minutes. Remove from heat allow to stand 10 to 15 minutes. Remove lid fluff up with fork and serve. Makes 3 cups cooked rice.

Variation
Brown Rice: Follow directions for cooking rice, replacing long grain rice with brown rice. Extend cooking time to 50 minutes or until brown rice is tender.
