Sesame Cheese Muffins

Ingredients

1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/3 cup salad oil
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons butter melted or margarine

Directions:

Toast sesame seeds by placing them in a small dry frying pan, heat very gently, stirring constantly, until golden brown. Set aside. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt blend thoroughly. Stir in 1 cup of the Cheddar cheese. In small bowl beat egg lightly with milk and salad oil add instant onion. Stir milk mixture into dry ingredients until just moistened. Fill well greased muffin cups 3/4 full sprinkle tops with remaining cheese and toasted sesame seed. Drizzle melted butter or margarine over tops. Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
