Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese soup sharp, shredded
1/2 cup flour, stirred and measured
1 1/2 cups milk hot
1 1/2 cups tomatoes cooked
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

Melt butter (or margarine) in heavy skillet. Add cheese. Sprinkle flour over cheese and cover pan. Cook over low heat until cheese melts and bubbles up through flour. Stir in milk slowly. Blend thoroughly. Stir hot tomatoes (may substitute heated canned tomatoes for fresh) into cheese mixture. Add seasonings to taste. Simmer only a few minutes to blend. Do not overcook. Serve on crackers, toast, or cooked rice.
