Swiss Sausage Casserole

Ingredients

10 slices white bread cubed
1 pound spicy sausage browned and drained
1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms drained
3/4 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups grated Swiss cheese
8 eggs beaten
2 cups half and half
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

Place bread cubes in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Crumble cooked sausage over bread. Evenly lay mushrooms over sausage and sprinkle cheeses over top.

In a large bowl, mix eggs, half-and-half, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour egg mixture evenly over cheese. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 20 minutes before baking and preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15–20 minutes more. Makes 6–8 servings.
