Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (30-ounce) jar chunky garden style spaghetti sauce
1 (10-ounce) can tomatoes with chiles
1 (10-ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 (10 1/2-ounce) can beef broth
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Combine ground beef, onion, celery and garlic over medium heat in a stockpot; cook until beef is browned and onion tender. Drain; stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce heat and simmer for 1-1/2 hours to blend flavors.

Tip: Oops! If a soup or stew begins to burn on the bottom, all is not lost. Spoon it into another pan, being careful not to scrape up the scorched food on the bottom. The burnt taste usually won't linger.
