8 ounces uncooked penne pasta
1 pound ground beef
6 bacon strips, diced
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1/2 cup water
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Optional: Barbecue sauce and prepared mustard
Directions:
Cook the pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the beef over medium heat until it's no longer pink; drain the grease and set the beef aside.
In the same skillet, cook the bacon until it's crisp. Remove it with a slotted spoon and transfer it to paper towels to drain. Discard the drippings. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet. Stir in the soup, water, beef and bacon, and heat the mixture through.
Remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle the pasta with cheese. Cover the pot and let it stand for two to three minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve the bacon cheeseburger pasta with barbecue sauce and mustard, if desired.
