Flat Cookie Fix

I neded help with a problem I have run into with a large recipe I made and don't want to throw away. The recipe called for both baking soda an baking powder. Upon cooking them instead of them looking like balls, they look like saucers. I don't know what to do?

Hi Cathy,

I'm sorry for the trouble you ran into with your cookie recipe.

Flat cookies usually result from adding too much sugar or too little flour. I realize it's probably too late now, but for future reference, add extra flour to the recipe if the cookies bake flat in the first batch. Additionally, chilling the dough before baking can help cookies stay more round as it will take longer for them to "melt". Setting cookies on cooled cookie sheets also keeps them from spreading out too much.

I hope this helps,
