Lemon Sauce

Serves: 8

Sauce may be made quickly and easily in microwave.


   1/2 cup sugar
   1 tablespoon cornstarch
   1/8 teaspoon salt
   1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
   1 cup water boiling
   2 tablespoons butter
   1 teaspoon lemon peels grated
   1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice


Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and nutmeg. Gradually add water; cook over low heat until thick and clear. Add butter (or margarine), lemon rind, and lemon juice; blend thoroughly. Makes 1 1/3 cups.
