Old Fashioned Chili


Serves: 6

Ingredients

4 cups chili beans
2 quarts water
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 quart tomato
4 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin

Directions:

Rinse beans. Place in large pot. Add enough water to cover the beans. Soak overnight or bring to boil and simmer for I hour. Drain. Add 2 quarts water. In large skillet crumble and cook ground beef until brown. Drain off fat. Add green pepper and onion and cook for 3 minutes until tender. Add to beans. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 3 hours, or until beans are tender.
