1/2 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup ice water

Directions:

Measure 1-1/2 cups flour. Sift with salt and baking powder. Divide shortening into two equal parts. Cut half of shortening into the flour mixture until it looks like cornmeal. Cut the remaining half of the shortening coarsely until it’s the size of large green peas. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons ice water over the mixture and blend lightly. If the dough holds together, add no more liquid. If not, add additional water. Line your 10-inch pie pan with the pie crust.
