Catfish Stew, Southern Style

Ingredients

2 slices bacon
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup boiling water
1 (14.5-ounce) can tomato
2 large potatoes, diced
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 1/4 pounds skinned catfish filets, cut into bite-size pieces

Directions:

In Dutch oven or heavy saucepan, fry bacon; remove, then drain on paper towels, and crumble back into pan with chopped onion. Brown onion lightly, then add water, tomatoes, and other ingredients except fish. Simmer for 30 minutes, covered. Add fish and simmer, uncovered, 15 more minutes.
