Mocha Polka Walnut Torte

Ingredients

1 package brownie mix (or your own recipe)
2 eggs
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup coarsely chopped nuts
2 cups whipping cream
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons instant coffee
walnuts halves

Directions:

Follow cake-like method for preparing brownie mix, adding eggs and water as directed; add nuts. Spoon into 2 greased 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Turn onto racks to cool. Whip cream until it begins to thicken. Gradually add brown sugar and instant coffee. Continue beating until of spreading consistency. Spread between layers of torte and swirl over top and sides. Polka-dot with walnut halves. Chill overnight. This is very rich, so one torte serves 10–12.
