Pound Cake with Cherry Topping

Ingredients

Cherry Topping:
8 ounces cherries (frozen, pitted, unsweetened)
4 tablespoons water, divided
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:

Purchase pound cake. Place 2 slices on each dessert plate. Dip warm cherry topping over the cake at serving time.

Cherry Topping:
Place cherries and 2 tablespoons water into a small saucepan. Bring to boil; cook 1 minute.

In a cup, combine cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir to dissolve the cornstarch and sugar in the liquid. Add to the warm cherries. Stir and cook on low heat to form a sauce (approximately 1–2 minutes).
