Chocolate Revel Bars

Ingredients

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

Filling:
1 (15-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-ounce) package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate pieces
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt together sweetened condensed milk, chocolate pieces, butter or margarine, and salt, stirring till smooth. Stir in vanilla and nuts.

Pat 2/3 of oat mixture in bottom of a greased 10x15x1-inch pan. Spread chocolate mixture over dough. Dot with remaining oat mixture. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350°. Cool; cut into 2x1-inch bars.
