Beef Wontons

Ingredients

1/2 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (12-ounce) package wonton wrappers
vegetable oil
SAUCE
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup vinegar
2/3 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Directions:

In a frying pan, brown ground beef until meat is no longer pink. Drain if necessary. Stir in soy sauce, onion, ginger, and salt.

Spoon a heaping 1/2 teaspoon beef mixture onto each wonton wrapper. Fold wrapper over meat mixture and seal edges with water. Fry, turning once, in hot oil for 2 minutes until lightly golden.

In a saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sauce thickens. Serve wontons with sauce on the side.
