Sweet and Sour Spareribs

Ingredients

4 pounds pork spare ribs
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup chicken bouillon
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 (11-ounce) can mandarin orange segment, drained
1 green bell pepper, cut in chunks

Directions:

Cut spareribs into serving sizes pieces. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place on rack in shallow baking pan. roast in 400 degreee oven for 15 minutes. Turn and brown other side. Drain fat and put ribs in crock pot. Combine boullion with vinegar, brown sugar and soy sauce. Pour over ribs in pot, cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours. Turn control to high. Add onion to crockpot. Disolve cornstarch in a small amount of cold water, stir into pot. Cover and cook on HIGH another 10 to 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in oranges and green pepper. Cover and cook 5 minutes. Serve over rice or chinese noodles. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
