French Onion Soup*

Ingredients

4 to 5 large onions, sliced
2 tablespoons reduced-calorie margarine
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup white wine
10 ounces low-sodium chicken broth
10 ounces low-sodium beef broth
1 1/2 cups water
5 slices French bread, toasted
4 ounces low-fat Swiss cheese, shredded
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Directions:

1. Combine onions and margarine in 3-quart casserole. Cover.

2. Microwave 6-9 minutes on HIGH until onions are soft and translucent.

3. Stir in sugar, flour, wine, broth and water. Cover. Microwave 4-6 minutes on HIGH or until heated through.

4. Ladle soup into individual casseroles. Top with bread slices. Sprinkle with cheeses. Microwave 5-7 minutes on MEDIUM-HIGH (70% power) or until cheeses melt.
