Fruit And Greens Salad

Ingredients

Dressing:
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2/3 cup vegetable oil
Several drops Tabasco® pepper sauce
1/4 cup parsley minced fresh
* See note below.
1 bunch red leaf lettuce trimmed, washed, and crisped
1 head Romaine lettuce trimmed, washed, and crisped
1 cucumber pared and sliced
1 1/2 cups celery chopped
1 apple red, cored and diced
4 green onions thinly sliced
1 (15-ounce) can mandarin orange segment drained
1/3 cup sesame seeds toasted*

Directions:

* Place all ingredients in blender or food processor blend well. Keep in covered jar in refrigerator. In large salad bowl, place lettuce torn into bite-size pieces. Add cucumber, celery, apple, green onions, and mandarin oranges. Just before serving toss with dressing, sprinkle with sesame seed, and serve.

* To toast sesame seed, place in small skillet and stir until browned over medium-low heat. Or, place in preheated 300° F oven for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
