Frances' Apple Dessert

Ingredients

5 apples tart cooking, pared and thinly sliced
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon ground
1 tablespoon butter real
1 egg
1/2 cup flour sifted
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Heat oven to 375° F. Place sliced apples in a buttered 8-inch square baking dish. Blend 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Cream remaining 1/2 cup sugar with butter add egg, flour, and salt. Spread over apples. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
