Sprinkle chicken with salt. In a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown chicken in oil. Remove chicken as browned cover and keep warm.
Saute onion in pan drippings until tender. Add rice, curry powder and pepper. Reduce heat to medium. Cook and stir rice until milky white in color.
Preheat oven to 350°. Stir broth or bouillon, apricots, raisins and lemon juice into rice mixture. Bring to a boil. Place chicken on top.
Cover and bake for 45 minutes or until chicken and rice are tender.
