Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
4 sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup margarine, sliced
2 tablespoons maple-flavored pancake syrup
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:

Shake flour in a large oven roasting bag; arrange bag in a 13"x9" baking pan. Toss sweet potatoes with remaining ingredients to blend; arrange in an even layer in bag. Close bag with nylon tie provided; cut six, 1/2-inch slits in top. Tuck ends of bag into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Tip: Fragrant baking spices bring out the flavor in sweet potatoes. Besides nutmeg, try adding a little cinnamon, cloves, coriander or ginger…yummy!
