Yield: 1 dozen

Ingredients

1 envelope rapid-rise yeast
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup oil
1 cup hot water, 110 to 115 degrees
2 eggs, beaten

Directions:

Whisk together yeast, flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Pour oil into a bowl; slowly pour hot water over oil. Stir to blend. Add eggs to flour mixture; blend well. Stir in oil mixture. Continue to stir until mixture is smooth. Cover and set aside for 10 minutes. If dough is sticky, knead in enough additional flour until dough is easy to handle. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to one-inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Cover and let dough rise for 3 to 4 hours or until double in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, or until golden.

Enjoy some family fun like Grandma used to have...stringing popcorn and cranberries together! The kids will love it, and the strands are so pretty draped along a mantel, doorway and, of course, on the Christmas tree!
