Ingredients

1/2 cup water
4 drops red food coloring, if desired
3/4 cup frozen strawberries (without syrup), thawed and drained
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
3 1/4 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 3/4 teaspoons bread machine or quick active dry yeast
1 egg, slightly beaten, if desired

Directions:

Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except egg and baking chips in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

Select Dough/Manual cycle. Do not use delay cycles.

Remove dough from pan, using lightly floured hands. Cover and let rest 15 minutes on lightly floured surface.

Grease large cookie sheet. Divide dough into 15 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Cover and let rise in warm place 30 to 40 minutes or until double. (Dough is ready if indentation remains when touched.)

Heat oven to 375°. Brush tops of rolls with egg. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Drizzle melted baking chips over tops of rolls, or dip tops of rolls into melted baking chips.

Do-ahead Note
After you have shaped the dough into rolls and placed them on the cookie sheet, cover it with plastic wrap. You can refrigerate it from 4-48 hours. Before baking, remove the dough from the refrigerator and remove the plastic wrap. Cover with kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place about 2 hours or until it is almost double. Then continue as the recipe tells you.

SUCCESS TIP
If you melt the baking chips in the microwave, be careful not to overheat them. Chips don't melt and lose their shape in the microwave like they do when you melt them on the stove. Instead, they hold their shape and become shiny when they are hot. Give your chips a stir several times while you microwave them and you'll see them melting perfectly.
