Frosty Apple Bites

Ingredients

Cookies:
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup pared and chopped apple
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Cinnamon Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 - 3 tablespoons evaporated milk

Directions:

Cookies:
Sift together all the dry ingredients. Then cream margarine and brown sugar and then add the unbeaten egg and vanilla. Beat well. Add the dry ingredients alternately with evaporated milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in walnuts, apples, and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 12–15 minutes. Frost while warm with Cinnamon Glaze.

Cinnamon Glaze:
Combine sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Add evaporated milk until of spreading consistency.
