Ingredients

30 caramels
3 cups flour
1 cup softened butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
6 eggs
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons allspice
3 Granny Smith apples chopped and cored

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Unwrap the caramels and using scissors, cut each into eight pieces. Spread pieces out on wax paper. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. In another bowl, stir together the flour, cinnamon and allspice. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend well. Using a wooden spoon, stir in the apples and caramel pieces. Divide between 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour and 10 -20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centers comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack and then remove from pans.
