Table Talk: Cupcakes in a Jar

Serves: 5

Ingredients

Directions:

I am not really sure why putting delicious desserts inside of a jar is so incredibly delightful, but it is. There is something exciting about popping open a can of cupcakes squished in between layers of decadent frosting and topped with sprinkles. The greatest part is, you can take it and eat it virtually anywhere you want. There is a fork attached and waiting for you whenever you feel like devouring your dessert. Let's not forget to mention the cute factor. It makes for one adorable and delightful gift. I'm not sure if there is anyone who would turn down cupcakes in a jar. So spread some joy in a jar this holiday season and watch the smiles commence.

How to make cupcakes in a jar:

Step 1: Bake your favorite kind of cupcakes and let them cool.

Step 2: Place a cupcake on top of your jar and push it down like so:

Be careful not to mash the poor little thing. Just lightly press it into the bottom of the jar.

Step 3: Place your favorite kind of frosting into a durable Ziploc bag and cut roughly a 1 inch snip in one of the corners of the bag. Squeeze a layer of frosting onto your cupcake at the bottom of the jar. Fill the jar nearly halfway full.

Step 4: Place a layer of sprinkles on top of your layer of frosting.

Step 5: Repeat steps 2-4 filling the frosting nearly to the top. Leave a little head space so the frosting doesn't ooze out the sides when you screw the lid in place.

Step 6: Screw on lid and decorate the jar however you like. Just be sure to attach a fork!

Other goodies you could put in a jar:

  • Strawberry Shortcake in a jar

  • Cheesecake in a jar

  • Pudding and whipped cream in a jar

  • Brownies in a jar

  • Cookies in a jar

  • Cinnamon rolls in a jar

  • Peach cobbler in a jar

  • Play around and have fun experimenting with what goodies you could put into a jar. Again, I'm not sure why, but everything seems to taste better in a jar. Enjoy!
