Chocolate Ganache Glaze
This is a wonderful frosting; chocolatey, creamy, almost fudge-like. Store the cake in the refrigerator and makes this frosting even better.Yield: Makes about 3/4 cup
|6 ounces||semisweet chocolate chips|
|3/4 cup||heavy cream|
|1 teaspoon||pure vanilla extract|
|1/2 teaspoon||kosher salt|
1. Place the chocolate in a medium bowl.
2. Heat the cream in a saucepan to just before a boil. (Don't boil, though.)
3. Add the salt.
4. Pour over chocolate in bowl. Stir until chocolate is melted and smooth.
5. Cool for 5 minutes and use as a glaze. (You want to glaze your cake while the frosting is warm).
6. Refrigerate until set.
