DESSERTS TO DIE FOR

Muddy Buddies: the Better Way

By Sydney Hill

Muddy Buddies are amazing, hands down. So...is it even possible to make them better? YES! My sister makes these all the time, and everyone always asks for her recipe, because they like it better. So I got it for you! (Okay, I got it for me too :) Can't wait to make them!

By the way, freezing muddy buddies is one of my favorite ways to eat them. They are cold and almost pop in your mouth. You should give it a try.

Oh, and when we were little, we used to call it Puppy Chow. Did anyone else or was that just us? What did you call it?

Ingredients:
1 box Chex bite-size cereal square (about 13 cups)
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 pounds powdered sugar

Directions:
Melt chocolate chips with peanut butter and butter in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir. Keep microwaving for 15 second intervals, stirring after each one. Continue until it stirs smooth. Add vanilla. In a large bowl, pour chocolate mixture over Chex and stir until evenly covered. Place in large Ziploc bags with powdered sugar and shake until evenly coated. Or, use a bowl with a lid and shake that way.
