On what devices can I get the Cook'n mobile app?
The Cook’n mobile app is available on both Apple iOS and Android devices. The iOS app requires iOS 4.3 or later. It is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. (iPad app is coming soon.) The Android app is currently available in the Google Play store, and will work with multiple Android devices.
How do I sync my recipes from my computer to my mobile device?
You'll first want to set up a Cook'n Cloud account from your computer running Cook'n. After you've done an up-sync of all of your recipes to the Cook'n Cloud, simply sign into your cloud account on the mobile device.
How do I setup my Cook'n Cloud account?
- Choose your computer that has your complete recipe collection in Cook’n.
- Click the Cloud icon in the toolbar.
- Follow the prompts to set up your Cook’n Cloud account. This will include entering an email, confirming your account, etc.
- Run a one-time full data upload to put your recipes into the Cook’n Cloud. This may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour or more, depending on your internet connection and your databases size.
What can I do if my recipes don't sync with my device?
If your Sync fails, please do the following:
- Uninstall & re-install the Cook'n app from your device.
- Choose a time when you have at least 30 minutes where your device can do the down-sync uninterrupted. Larger recipe collections can take several hours. We suggest doing it overnight.
- Connect your device to power and Wi-Fi.
- Log into your Cook'n Cloud account on your device, and let it complete the sync.
If you still have a sync problem, please click here and tell us what mobile device you are using, and your Cook'n Cloud email and password. Please be specific about what cookbooks, chapters, or recipes are not syncing. We will research your account to see what might be causing the problem.
How do I create a shopping list on my iPhone, iPod, or iPad?
The shopping list feature in the Cook'n app for iOS devices from Apple works with the Cook'n desktop app. From a PC or MAC, you can create a shopping list and send it to the mobile device.
What Android devices will run the Cook'n App?
Right now, phones and tablets running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) to 4.1 (Jelly Bean) will work with the Cook'n app. We are working now to have Cook'n ready for the newer Android operating systems.
