Peanut Butter Fingers

   1/2 cup butter
   1/2 cup sugar granulated
   1/2 cup brown sugar
   1 egg
   1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
   1/2 teaspoon baking soda
   1/4 teaspoon salt
   1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
   1 cup flour
   1 cup oats instant
   1 6-ounce package mini chocolate chips
   1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
   1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
   1 1/2 tablespoons milk


Cream butter (or margarine) and white and brown sugars. Blend in egg, 1/3 cup peanut butter, baking soda, salt, and vanilla. Stir in flour and oatmeal. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes.
While bars are cooking, prepare topping: Cream powdered sugar, 1/4 cup peanut butter, and enough milk to make mixture spreading consistency.
Remove pan from oven and sprinkle bars with chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes, then spread like frosting. With knife or spatula, swirl peanut butter frosting over chocolate topping. Cool thoroughly, then cut into 24 bars.
