Toast Francais

Serves: 2
Total Calories: 437

Ingredients

4 large eggs
1 tablespoon milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
6 slices (1 inch thick) French or Iralian bread

Directions:

1. Place the eggs and milk in a bowl and beat with a whisk or fork until the mixture is blended and uniform in color. Set aside. Heat up the butter in a frying pan over medium?high heat.
2. Dip both sides of the bread in the egg mixture, then place the slices in the hot pan.
3. Cook the bread about 2 or 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Top with a little butter and your favorite syrup, such as the Berry Good Syrup.

Important tip
The pan must be hot when making French toast, so the outside of the egg-coated bread gets crisp. And keep in mind that the butter can soak into the bread, so the pan may become dry. Because of this, sometimes I add more butter to the pan after I flip the slices.
