1. Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the milk and eggs, and gently stir with a whisk or fork until thoroughly mixed but still a little lumpy.
2. Pour or ladle about 1/2 cup of batter onto a preheated waffle iron, not quite to the edges. (It is better to use too little than too much.) Lower the top of the iron onto the batter.
3. The waffle will rise initially and then start to steam. Let it cook 4 to 5 minutes, or until the steam stops.
4. Open the lid and use tongs or a fork to remove your golden brown waffle from the iron. Serve immediately with your favorite topping.
