Ingredients

2 teaspoons cumin
1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon granulated garlic
1 tablespoon granulated onion
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 full rack pork or beef ribs (5 pounds)
2 quarts apple juice
vegetable oil

Directions:

Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. In a large pot, boil ribs in the apple juice for 10 minutes. This precooking not only adds flavor but also helps to remove extra fat. Remove ribs from juice; cool.

Preheat grill to high (approximately 400 to 425°F). When ribs have cooled, rub with vegetable oil, coating thoroughly – this step helps the rub adhere to the ribs. Rub the dry mixture into ribs well.

Grill on high for 8 to 10 minutes on each side or until meat is tender. If desired, serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
