Twenty-Four Hour Fruit Salad

Ingredients

4 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons sugar
4 eggs, beaten
3 cups milk, divided
6 tablespoons vinegar, divided
2 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large package marshmallows
1 (4-ounce) can almonds
1 (15-ounce) can fruit cocktail, drained
1 (20-ounce) can pineapple tidbit, drained
2 (15-ounce) cans sweet cherries, drained
1/2 pint whipping cream

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients in saucepan; add eggs, 1/3 of milk, and 1/3 of vinegar. Cook until thick. Add remaining milk and vinegar; continue cooking until thick. Add margarine and vanilla. Pour over marshmallows, nuts, and fruit in large bowl. Let stand for 24 hours. Before serving, whip cream and toss with salad.
