V1:Chapter 8: Whole Wheat Chocolate Cake


Serves: 6

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3 tablespoons baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sugar
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 cup water, cold

Directions:


DIRECTIONS:

In large bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients. Beat with a spoon until all lumps are gone and batter is smooth. Spray a 9'x9' cake pan with cooking spray and pour in batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

* Note: This moist cake needs no frosting, but is great served with ice cream or warmed applesauce.
