Chicken & Bread Crumb Casserole

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups bread crumbs
1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese (shredded)
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
4 cups chicken (cooked and shredded)
1/2 cup onion (chopped)
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup flour
1 3/4 cups half and half cream
1 teaspoon Dijon style mustard
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:

Combine in bowl bread crumbs, 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese, walnuts, melted butter and 1/4 teaspoon dill weed; set aside.

In the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 inch pan put cooked and shredded chicken; spread 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese on top.

In large skillet saute onion in 1/4 cup butter until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and blend in half & half cream. Add mustard, remaining 1/4 teaspoon dill weed and nutmeg. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened.

Pour mixture over chicken and Swiss cheese; top with bread crumb mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
