Onion Fries

Ingredients

3/4 cup self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cornmeal
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups chopped onions

Directions:

Combine all ingredients except onions. Add cold water a little at a time until you have a very thick batter. Add onions and mix well. Make small half-dollar size patties by dripping from spoon into hot shallow oil and flattening slightly with back of spoon. Brown on both sides.
