Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
3/4 cup skim milk

Directions:

Stir dry ingredients together in a bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in center. Pour in milk. Using a fork, quickly stir the flour into the milk just until dough follows fork around the bowl. Turn out onto a floured surface. Knead gently 10-12 strokes. Roll dough 1/2-inch thick. Dip cutter in flour cut straight down without twisting. Put biscuits on baking sheet. Freeze until firm. Once firm, remove from sheet, wrap, label, and freeze.

To serve, bake frozen biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet at 425° F for 20-25 minutes.
