Cider Stew for Crock Pot

Ingredients

2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
3 tablespoons oils
3 potatoes, peeled and quartered
4 carrots, quartered
2 onions, sliced
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 apple, chopped
2 cups apple cider
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/2 cup cold water
1/4 cup flour

Directions:

Coat the meat with the mixture of flour, salt, pepper and thyme. In a skillet or large saucepan brown the meat in oil. Drain off the fat. Place the vegetables and the chopped apple in the crock-pot. Combine the apple cider and vinegar. Place the meat on top of the vegetables. Pour the cider vinegar mixture over the meat. Cover and cook 10 to 12 hours on low heat. Turn cooker to high heat. Blend cold water with flour. Stir into stew. Cook and additional 15 minutes or until thickened.
