Rinse and drain scallops; pat dry. Cut into 20 pieces; halve each bacon slice crosswise. Cook bacon, but not crisp. Drain on paper towels till cool enough to handle.
Preheat oven to 425°. Wrap each scallop piece with a slice of bacon. Secure with wooden toothpicks. Place in shallow baking pan and season. Brush with some maple syrup. Bake 8–10 minutes or until scallops are opaque and bacon is cooked (it may not be crisp), turning once and brushing with remaining maple syrup halfway through cooking. Serve warm.
