Squash-Apple Betty

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups apples pared and sliced tart
3 cups squash mediterranean pared, seeded, and thinly sliced or banana squ
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice fresh
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon ground
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg ground
1/4 teaspoon mace ground
1/2 teaspoon salt
* Part two.
3/4 cup flour
1 cup oats
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine

Directions:

Heat oven to 375° F. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients until well-blended. Place in a generously greased 8-inch square baking dish cover and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven cover with the following topping.

Topping:
*With a pastry blender combine topping ingredients. Place over squash-apple mixture. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until squash is tender and top is browed. Serve with dairy sour cream or ice cream.
