Ginger Cremes

Ingredients

1/4 cup vegetable shortening solid
1 cup sugar
2 eggs lightly beaten
1/2 cup molasses
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger ground
1 teaspoon cinnamon ground
1 teaspoon allspice ground
1 teaspoon nutmeg ground
1 cup hot water
3 1/2 cups flour
* Part two.
3 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons coffee strong hot
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar add eggs and blend well. Add remaining ingredients mix well. Cover and chill for several hours in refrigerator. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350° F oven for about 12 minutes or until set and lightly browned. Cool and spread with the following frosting.

Frosting:
*Blend together until smooth and of spreading consistency.
