Freezer French Toast

Ingredients

6 tablespoons butter or margarine
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground (optional)
12 slices white bread soft crumb or French bread

Directions:

Heat oven to 500°. Place 3 tablespoons butter or margarine in each of two 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pans. Heat in oven for 3 minutes or until butter or margarine melts. Spread in pans.

In a shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk, syrup and cinnamon until blended.

Dip bread slices in egg mixture until well soaked and place on jelly roll pans. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes or until underside is golden. Turn and bake 3 to 5 minutes longer or until underside is golden. Cool on wire racks. Place in a single layer on clean jelly roll pans in freezer for 30 minutes or until hard. Wrap, label and freeze up to one month.

Reheat in single layer on jelly roll pans or baking sheets in a preheated 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until heated through. (For small quantities, reheat in your toaster.)
